What is ID Match?
A special computer program written for this purpose by Selle Italia IT specialists allows you to match the appropriate saddle model to the individual needs of the cyclist. The Italians' idea is distinguished by the use of the so-called multi-phase measurement, which will require entering appropriate data such as: age, gender, weight, height, distance covered during the season, spine angle (position on the bike), pelvic bone spacing, thigh circumference, etc. into the mentioned computer program. With the use of idMatch in mind, a new Flite model was created, which, together with the system, was tested in the best Italian and Swiss stores and by the world's top cycling leaders.

Details: We all know how difficult it is a suitable saddle to fit. And it's not about the basic determinant of comfort, which is the softness of the saddle, but probably the most important parameter, which is the width of the saddle. Narrow or wide? The question is important, a saddle that is too narrow will make us feel that we are sitting on the so-called "soft" parts of the body. Too wide will make you feel like you're sitting on a couch and there's a high risk of your thighs rubbing against the edges.

Saddle manufacturers have met our needs by providing us with gel cushions to locate the ischial tuberosities or trying to determine the position ischial tuberosities through our elasticity. All these methods are relatively effective, but they are based on one parameter and are not entirely accurate. With the IDMatch system, Selle Italia decided to approach the topic more comprehensively and not base the measurement system on only one parameter, but on three, which gives more accurate results. The basis are the results of three measurements and the IDMatch system on the website.

The following are measured: the width between the trochanters (this is the distance measured on the outer part of the femurs), thigh circumference and position pelvis. Based on the measurement of the width between the trochanters, which we obtain using a specialized measure, we obtain the width between the ischial tuberosities, a parameter determining the width of the saddle. The second parameter that is measured is thigh circumference, this is especially important for people who keep their knees narrow while riding and rub their thighs against the saddle. The third and last one is to measure the position of the pelvis when bending forward, this allows you to determine whether a saddle with or without a hole is needed. The results of the above measurements are entered on the IDMatch website where, after calculations, the system suggests the right saddle for us. The saddles are divided into categories S1, S2, S3 and L1, L2, L3. Saddles from the S category are narrow saddles, L category are wide saddles, the number after the letter means whether the saddle should have a hole and how big one.
